Track Representatives:

Hi! My name is Esther Thomet (she/her) and I am in my fifth semester here at UCU. I am majoring in law and economics and will be one of the two law track representatives this year. I love how the study of law looks at what governs human interactions, combining different historical, political, and cultural elements. I hope to make the track more visible and to ensure some sense of methodological continuity between courses. To do this, however, we will need your help! So please reach out to either of us at any point throughout the year with your questions, concerns or feedback:)

My name is Olivia Rice (she/her), and I am a third-year student at UCU majoring in Law and Politics and minoring in History. I fell in love with the law track when I started at UCU, so I am very excited to improve and represent the track this year. I am also doing the double degree programme for law, meaning that I will do an extra at the UU taking Dutch law courses.  Please feel free to approach me with any questions and any feedback you might have on the track.

Katrina Funk

My name is Katrina Funk, and I am thrilled to be representing the Media Studies track! I am in my third year here at UCU and my time spent in the track has helped me develop and further explore my passion for media in today’s world. Media has a permanent place in nearly all of our daily lives. But in our routine consumption of media, we rarely stop and question who controls the media, who produces it, and what kind of audience it is created for. In Media Studies courses at UCU, we delve deeper into these complexities, analyzing and viewing them through a critical lens. This year, as track representative, I am also excited about helping Media students discover and learn about the endless number of possible careers and further education opportunities in the media world in their post-UCU life.
I’m looking forward to having conversations about the track and answering any questions, as well as chatting about a favorite new film, an interesting article, recent concert, or anything else media related! Please feel free to reach out and I am looking forward to hearing from you!

Hi all! I’m Faye (she/her) and I will be this year’s performance studies track representative! Performance has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. I am always interested in engaging in performance studies, and the the expressive power it has to entertain, educate, provoke, and inspire. Whether as a participant or an observer, I believe engagement with performance is a deeply human experience involving our senses, emotions, and intellect. I’m thrilled to be in the position of track representative, bridging the communication between students and teachers and helping to make the courses as engaging as possible. If you ever have any comments, concerns, or feedback regarding the performance track, please don't hesitate to contact me via any available platform. I'm here and happy to help you in any way I can!

Suvi McMenamin

Hello! My name is Suvi McMenamin (they/she) and I’m over the moon to be representing the Religious Studies track this year. I am in my third year and pursuing a double major in Anthropology and Religious Studies. Religious Studies is one of the most interdisciplinary and diverse tracks you can take here at UCU, and has already enriched my curriculum hugely in its contribution of philosophical, theological, historical, anthropological (and more!) perspectives on the role of religions in our society. Religious Studies allows one to investigate the most profound questions about the nature of humanity, as well as learn about case studies that are deeply relevant in the social and political issues of today’s world. Don’t hesitate to reach out to me with any questions or concerns!
